Travis Kelce had himself a week. First he liked a controversial SNL monologue. Then old social media posts resurfaced. Then his mom had to get involved. It’s giving very much family group chat energy but make it public.

How It All Started

It began innocently enough — well, as innocently as anything involving Shane Gillis can. Travis Kelce liked a video of Gillis’s October 10th SNL monologue, which had already sparked a celebrity pile-on for its comments about women at the gym. Dan Levy, Ego Nwodim, and others had publicly called it out.

The like was noticed. And once the internet started looking at Travis, they found something spicy.

The Posts in Question

Screenshots began circulating of an account named “tkelce” featuring posts from 2009 to 2011 with offensive comments about women. The posts spread fast, with multiple outlets picking them up — including a note that Snopes had previously, in 2023, independently verified the screenshots.

Travis said nothing. Which, for a man who is very publicly dating the most famous woman on the planet, felt very loud.

Enter Donna Kelce

Mama Kelce — who at this point has become a celebrity in her own right — stepped in on Saturday October 17th with a simple, firm denial:

Short. Direct. Mom energy fully deployed.

The Internet Reacts

Reactions were split. Some took Donna’s word immediately — after all, she’d know her son’s accounts. Others pointed to the Snopes verification from 2023 and weren’t so sure. Travis still hasn’t personally addressed it, which isn’t exactly helping things.

The Bigger Picture

This whole situation is a masterclass in how one celebrity interaction — a simple like on a video — can spiral into a full excavation of someone’s digital past within 48 hours. The internet never forgets, never sleeps, and will absolutely go digging the moment it smells something.

Whether those posts are his or not, Travis might want to be a little more careful with that like button going forward. Just a thought.
